Glenn Melenhorst

Tiểu sử

Glenn Melenhorst is a visual effects supervisor at Framestore Melbourne. Melenhorst is widely associated with HBO's fantasy drama Game of Thrones (2011-2019), where he served as a visual effects supervisor on multiple episodes. His work on the sixth-season episode "Battle of the Bastards" (2016) was especially notable for its integration of digital armies, environments, and simulation effects, earning industry recognition for both technical achievement and cinematic impact. He also contributed supervisory work to later episodes, including "The Spoils of War" (2017), which featured large-scale battle and destruction sequences. In feature films, Melenhorst has supervised visual effects on a range of productions that emphasise realistic digital augmentation. His credits include Sanctum (2011), a survival thriller noted for its underwater environments, Ted 2 [2015], which required seamless integration of a digital character into live-action comedy, Christopher Robin (2018), blending photoreal digital characters with live action, Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), featuring extensive effects work in fantastical settings, and The Witches (2020), which relied heavily on character transformation and photoreal visual effects. Melenhorst's television work also includes Childhood's End (2015), where he supervised visual effects for the episode "The Children" (2015). Melenhorst won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2016 for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for Game of Thrones (2011), for the episode "Battle of the Bastards," shared with Steve Kullback, Joe Bauer, Adam Chazen, Derek Spears, Eric Carney, Sam Conway, Matthew Rouleau, and Michelle Blok. He has also received multiple Visual Effects Society Awards, including a 2017 win for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Episode for Game of Thrones (2011), and nominations for Childhood's End (2015), Christopher Robin (2018) and The Witches (2020). The Australian Production Design Guild, the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts, and the Hollywood Professional Association have also recognised his achievements.
